Facebook announced today that it will start implementing autoplaying video ad posts from Thursday onwards, in a bid to help capture a share of the TV advertising market.

A video sharing feature was launched back in September, where shared Facebook videos by friends or page owners you follow started playing automatically, as soon as they appeared onscreen (though silently, unless you interacted with the video). Facebook claims that this feature has “seen a more than 10% increase in people watching, liking, sharing and commenting on videos” and that “it’s a better experience for people and it’s leading to increased engagement.”

The video advertisements will follow the same system as described above and Facebook will be testing “this richer storytelling format” from Thursday this week. A number of users will start seeing a short teaser video of the upcoming film ‘Divergent’ in their news feed on mobile and/or desktop although Facebook stresses that the autoplay extension to adverts is currently a limited trial.
I remember making a few articles on the topic. Now it's official with a date.

NVIDIA > AMD People told me a 7970 to a 770 would be a side grade but after seeing the difference here I believe a 660 wold have been an upgrade over the 7970 . So much smoother no more dropped frames or stutter.
2600K @ 7.61GHZ say what?
As of October 27 2013 I have had 9 news articles on the homepage at once. For the first time in my life I feel I have accomplished something and am actually happy about it.

Meeehhh, more ads. I don't for you guys, but those things don't work on me anymore...

They keep making them and thinking they actually change my mind about buying something? Sure advertisement might be helpful for starting small businesses, but any big corporated thing. Meh.

This sucks. My poor 3g coverage is spotty and slow enough. Sometimes I can barely load my own news feed without pictures. Now these are gonna be shoved down my throat too. Bookface sucks since they went onto the stock market IMO.

it brings in more profit to Facebook. It's annoying to customers... Customers will deal with it. Good article for investors rather than common user. Advertising is meant to pursue adolescents....

I was wondering why videos were autoplaying.... Now I know it isn't a stupid setting that FB reverted for me. Is it just me, or is FB getting as bad as YT?

It's Facebook, so who cares.

Adblock Plus is you care so much.

OCN rule number 1: Every thread eventually devolves into an AMD vs Nvidia or Intel vs. AMD one.
