Ok my friend asked me this ? is their a way to hook up a computer to a speaker that doesnt have the regular jack it has the copper wires like to hook up to receiver .

Laptop: MacBookPro 2.4Ghz T8300, 8600GT 256MB, 200GB 5400RPM HDD, 4GB RAM, 15.4" 1440x900

no you need an amp to power the speakers or it will be really quite

you could do it, but I wouldn't advise it as you might ruin the speakers or the sound card or both.

You need an amp.

Current Sound: ODAC > SA Reference IC > Musical Paradise MP-301 6v6 tube amp> Tekton Designs 4.1 loudspeakers

I am doing that right now, but you need an amplifier. I got a cable made for ipods

btw, you can get stereo RCA cables for about $2-$3, no need to spend $13 on something that says "iPod."

unless of course you are actually buying a good cable then it is worth every penny (up to a certain point)
