Ok i'e been debating for a while trying to decide which 2.1 speaker set to get.

So far the lowest price I could find for the Logitech Z-2300 is $111.00 with free shipping on amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

As for the Klipsch Pro Media, I could only find it as low as $135.00 with free shipping at buy.com.

I will be using these for music and my Xbox 360, but I will mainly use it for my 360. I've heard many good things about both sets but so far most of the people I ask lean towards the Klipsch.

I did hear that the Klipsch suffer from a poorer build quality and defective cables/subwoofer that can break within the first year. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Also, i found many versions of the pro medias online. Are the ones I linked the "good" ones that I heard so much about?

On buy.com I see many different entrys for the pro medias at different prices, I dont want to spend more on them when I can get them at a cheaper price.

If anyone can help me decide on the speakers or find cheaper prices on any it would be a huge help.

Klipsch generally has better bass extension and low range details, while Logitech has better highs. They both kinda fail at mids though. So if you like bass, go with the Klipsch. But the best thing to do would be to go to best buy and listen to them both, then buy the one you think sounds better.

Interesting - my opinion is almost exactly the opposite. I prefer Klipsch's treble while I feel the Logitechs have a better subwoofer.

All the more reason to audition speakers/headphones and find out what you like, OP.

It's kinda hard to define, I feel the logitech bass is too boomy and muddled, and Klipsch's tremble a little hot, even though I like hot tremble with my Grados... But as long as we agree on the mids

I love my Klipschs. I can't really comment on the Z-2300s (I'm sure they're nice), but my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1s are exactly what I was wanting out of my speakers. They're insanely nice and I have 0 complaints.

I own the z-2300's and must say, they are great for 360. Sound is very crisp.

If you are willing to buy used, you can get them for $95 shipped on amazon. If not, I would try eBay.
