If you didn't read my other post, I am still considering the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 and the Logitech Z5500D speakers, however I just had a wonderful idea.....why not use full on home theater audio equipment for my computer?

I want to know, how this would work.
Which components will I need (speakers obviously, amp? receiver? etc.)
I would still need a sound card right? (getting a XFI Fatal1ty FPS)
How would the overall hookup look like?

Can someone please help me, maybe make a post saying that you are interested in helping me and ask ME some questions so I can better help you to help me get started? lol.

Whats your budget, keeping in mind what set up you want, a 2.1 will have a higher output compared to 5.1 thats why true audiophiles use 2.1 for their set ups.

I work in the audio field. More on the large stage productions but it is all relative. Really depends on your budget. But my ideal system would be 5 infinity overture 1's and a Sunfire true Sub-woofer. Those are the speakers in my ideal setup. I used to own some overture 1's. I have heard the Sunfire and it really is amazing yet small sub. As far as Amps and preamps and decoders go. Their really are alot of good items so it would be hard to choose.

Not sure how this thread popped up but we helped him yesterday and he's already finalized what he's ordering. I think he might have accidentally created 2 of the same thread. He's ordering a set of 7.1 and a Dolby Digital receiver. Here's his real thread....
