Startup programs/services have no affect on it, I tried. With like 20 apps.
Maybe the M4 128GB is slower than the 64gb. My C300's have been...29 seconds complete restart on 64gb and 35 on 128 GB. My current 64GB is 33 seconds cant pip the earlier one which was 29....
Thats on sig rig but my back up system does it in 24, different mobo m4a78ltd
To get really fast you need to disable untold services. Task scheduler junk, and Event log start ups )ones not needed to run system!)...among other things but they are the main ones, and any unnesesary programs that run at start. Oh and disable pre and superfetch they will usually add 1 0r two seconds

Don't look at it like that. Consider the percentage increase and it's a fair amount. Then look at others posting here, nobody else is showing this increase (increase of any kind really) and lastly.. with a 256GB a lot of crap gets installed so this gave me a chance to 'start over'.
Anyhow, it didn't help. The read latency is now 0.050 while write is 0.425 still.
Yeah, I know I'm being little anal about it and you're right.. read is more important than write. I just found it odd it happened from the firmware update. I've now seen 1 other person showing this so at least I'm not the only one.
Other than that, the increase is very nice and obviously recommend this.
I still use the C300. And looking at the benchmarks the M4 is faster at Reads, but the C300 is faster at writes. My C300 benchmark is much higher then the M4 in writes. Although I do not know what is more important while gaming, reads or writes...
