Really cool, but I still like the design of Robonaut 2 more, especially now that he has grasping legs. And they have R5, the next robonaut in the series, competing in this challange too!

Guys you build a humanoid robot to work in a human-centric environment. It's easy to send such a robot in place of a human, and then send a human on the next stage....

If we are off to Mars ?

dunx

P.S. Packaging people into robot-centric environments is cruel and painful..... wink.gif

Mechanically it is easier to put a vehicle on Mars than it is to produce a robot that has the balance and ability to walk as a Human. Based on that Honda are far beyond NASA. Nasa put a man in space what 60 years ago? yet they are sill unable to produce an humanoid to the standard of automotive and technology giant such as Honda.

Why the hell would they put a glowing chest plate on these robots?
This whole "Obsession" with getting to Mars, but no push to get to Mars is interesting. Seems to me this robot is a small accomplishment compared to what really needs to be done to get to Mars. Also, the particular mission seems so one sided... I wonder what the other countries are doing.

Completely self-contained superhero robot pathetically hanging from straps. Ha!
