During its Gamers Day press event, Codemasters announced that the off-road racing game sequel DiRT 2 will be released this September.

Using the latest version of the EGO engine powering recent Codemasters racing games, DiRT 2 features a World Tour mode taking you to various locations including North America, Japan, Malaysia, Baja and Croatia.

Codemasters also promises fully-featured multiplayer support with social features across multiple racing disciplines.

The company also sent along some more 'concept' screenshots, showing what they hope the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will look like.

DiRT 2 is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP.

its called COLIN MCRAE DIRT 2 for god's sake.

He founded the series a decade ago and was a living legend so I find it disrespectful that in his death codemasters still remove his name from the dirt series in the US. Let alone remove the game from the greatness that it used to be. (colin mcrae 3)

There are greater things he is remembered by than video games.

Take the Sandy Bridge over Devil's Canyon to get to Skylake.

ofcourse there is. but this is his franchise and he was part of the development team for each and every game. just because in the US there's little other motorsports outside of nascar doesnt mean they should cut out his name..

Maybe it's just because i'm not an off road fan. I hated it with a passion. Just... so... bored... the entire time.

Ah yes, DiRT.....Not all of us Europeans like to drive (Both virtually and in reality) a car without a clutch pedal. Perhaps it was largely aimed at an American audience...xD

If DiRT 2 has a clutch pedal, i think i'll buy it.

Stay outta my shed

lol no that sounds like a documentary

its just called DiRT. To carry on the tradition of codemaster's 4 letter driving series in the US. when in fact it is in essence just a heavily americanised version of colin's earlier rally games. They just seem to have sacrificed their entire reputation for making some of the best licensed driving games in the industry in order to take it to the US audience. GRiD is in fact Race Driver: GRiD which is an arcade version of the long running series TOCA: Race Driver in europe for example. It's just too bad that ok you get the game in the US but here in europe our driving games have been all but forgotten.
