I dunno, I love HL2, but how come Sim Tower isn't on that list?

WoW is a pretty good game, and yes it is addicting. I do believe that half-life 2 should be there, or...just put all the source games in 1st place.

yeah, I never played WoW, never interested, but that seemed like a ridiculously popular game for a while...

I put Mass Effect at the bottom because I haven't finished playing it yet. I'm sure once I'm finished it'll break top ten. xD

If you loved KOTOR, Mass Effect is going to be right up at the top by the end. Awesome game. Probably not quite as good as KOTOR, but I think it makes up for it in other ways.

I probably would have put morrowind above Oblivion but thats just me.
I concur.

And this list seems like the best RECENT games.

Anyways, I believe that the Half-Life series is the best game ever.

Yeah. I haven't played Crysis, but it's so new, I don't think it can be considered in the top 10 just yet. If this was a collected list of games that have been bought more in the past x amount of years, then it might have been more effective. Like when Crysis came out, it sold like crazy, but so did HL2, and HL2 still is. So I think this would have been more effective if we were to look at game sales from the past x amount of years.

@ original post:

the magazine sounds a little dodgy but as far as their claim goes. They are right. PCGAMER, perhaps the most reputable pc gaming magazine, also claims that HL2 is the best game ever made. It got an average score of 97% which is not only the highest score any FPS game has ever achieved but I'm pretty sure its the highest average score of any game (dont count that as an official statement though). No other game equals Half Life 2 in recent years for me. And with the episodic content to add onto it, it only gets better still. It does everything it should do and does it well. Although one thing I sometimes want is an ironsight aiming view, but I can live without that. The half life universe never gets boring.

Either that or HL1. Nothing even comes close. Crysis was #5? I mean I LOVED Crysis, but that's just silly.
