Yeah but those cougars ain't pushing the same amount of air either. From what I've read and seen the AP-15's are some of the best when it comes to noise/performance. Insane amount of air with low noise, but having a little noise doesn't bother me lol. Having a little noise gives it a sooth feeling or something like that.

If you pick up an AP-15, you know where your money went before you even plug it in.

If you add aesthetics and cost into the mix, I think the cougars will give a run for number 1.

Everyone on OCN loves AP-15s because of performance and sound, not looks and cost. biggrin.gif

Yep $91 for 4 AP-15's with red sleeving and black heatstrink biggrin.gif Plus my build theme is white/red/black so the cougar's orange is a no no and the shape sucks.

I'm surprised that the Cougar CF-V12HP got such a good result since it doesn't have a square frame then again every good comparison that I've seen over the last 2 years have basically stated that Noctua fans are overprice poor performing fans with a decent build quality...... bit disappointing I happen to own about $200 worth of their fans lol

Well, OP you literally just reviewed 3 out of 4 fans that i've been considering for my upcoming WC build! thank you! If you have any Nanoxia DX's laying around, feel free to bench them wink.gif

And you said the Cougars were quieter than the Noctuas? i find this surprising, i've read that the noctuas not-as-turbulent-flow made them really quiet with radiator flow.. Guess i'll be going Cougar after all!

MAN the AP-15's are worth every single dang on penny son. They push a TON of air and very quite. They have a soothing sound to them very relaxing, best fan i ever bought and I'll continue to buy em.

The review states, "Too bad that there are no higher-speed models in this lineup, which could have become very popular among extreme overclockers favoring air-cooling due to pretty high though not record-breaking airflow readings". The CFM doesn't even come within 50% of a GT 1850rpm fan, you are not going to get close to a GT 1850rpm fan without being louder.
