Yup, the 7970 and 7950 backplates passively cool the vrm from the back of the gpu. I know ppcs.com has the "classic" (aka non-csq) 7950 backplates; thoughts if they will fit the 7970? (questioning the vrm positions though, ???)

Seriously though Wermad the CSQ isn't really that horrible once you see it in person. Not amazing, but you'll be able to live with it. Get the black ones and you'll hardly notice it all. thumb.gif

I know, and the price is good too frown.gif

HK (copper/ss) + backplates + bridge: $680 + s/h
AC (copper/ss) + backplates + bridge: $640 + s/h
EK (copper/acetal) + backplates + bridge: $570 + s/h

Leaning on EK but ppcs doesn't have any backplates in stock. Frozencpu has the blocks and the plates, but not the bridge. If I buy the blocks and bridge at ppcs and the backplates at frozen, it'll be ~$15 more. Still pretty good prices. Shame EK doesn't do a quad plexi bridge frown.gif

Would you still like me to measure the distance from block to block for you?

Jeffinlaw

*EDIT* I did anyways and it's about 25mm from block to block with one slot between.

I doubt my D-plugs will fit....so no need to bother any more. I missed out on Koolance refurb 7970 blocks for $69 each frown.gif. Might as well get EK since they have everything I need and its priced right. Ugh, now I want to change my cpu block too.......

Bahhh you're too fast, I just edited my post. And that means you should get a new CPU block too so it matches wink.gif

Won't touch CSQ since you can't use D-Plugs with them!

Lol, thanks any bud but if you do have them, won't hurt to have that info thumb.gif. I'll scour ebay for a used one but tbh, the DD has been very impressive and i like the mounting system smile.gif

You don't want d-plugs with CSQ because CSQ bridges have a quad semi-parallel. I guess that's ek's carrot to get one to go CSQ, crop circles ftl.

The d-plugs would have gone with the Koolance blocks. Looks like I'm going ek csq w/ a quad bridge, so that means the d-plugs will be up for sale smile.gif

Only quad bridge is acetal. Wish they would have made a clear/frosted one to match the blocks I'll be getting frown.gif

edit: there's an ek link they call a bridge. it basically gives you vertical top and bottom ports. The link included converts the bottom only ports to horizontal ones. This is for the regular bridges to link cards. Think of these links as the ones HK and AC use (the acetal/pom pieces).

Its very confusing but I don't need these extra link-bridges since I'm going with a bridge.
