I try to keep my room at the same temps as the DataCenter at work. Between 62 and 68°F. At 75°F an alarm goes off here at work to let us know the DataCenter is too hot. That is what I base my beliefs off of as we never have a hardware issue that is heat related. 75°F is just a tad too warm and temps in the low 40's is good for that ambient. Get the temp down to around 68-70°C and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the drop you'll see in temps system wise.

Do you have a thermometer in your room somewhere? I never trust the one on my thermostat. And 39-40 again, for what you are running equipment wise, is great.

I dont have a thermometer, and are you saying I have bad equipment!?!? LOL
I think I should be getting better temps, another reason for that is that I have the rad outside my case, and there is one more thing, your right 39 load is not that bad, but it sits at 37-38 idle, which is really wierd

Good advice there about your temps being okay for ambient. I have a Storm, D5 and 110 CFM 120mm and good-sized transmission cooler for a Rad--I get 42-43C with an ambient of 75C.

Because I can't freeze my wife and kids by cranking the thermostat down I am satisfied that is good enough.

August 13th, 2011 sad-smiley-002.gif Happy trails, may we meet again.

You guys were right, I set the ac to 70 again, and I noticed that the vent in my room isnt blowing much air, so I closed all the other ones in my house, and my cpu idle is 35, load 37(folding)
But still, people get 28-32 idle, why cant I get that?

Hot chip stepping, amount of volts you are using to maintain your OC, too much AS5, block not ultra smooth on the bottom, concave or convex IHS. I could keep going if you'd like, but there's a lot of reasons why. Going "naked" (removed IHS) can yield up to a 5°C drop in temps at load. In some rare cases (like mine) it can yield up to 10°C drop. My NewCastle ran at 55°C load until I removed the IHS and now at the same settings, it doesn't break 45°C load. I put the IHS on a piece of glass and it was anything but flat. Not to mention AMD uses too much thermal paste under the lid. The top of the chip was covered in the stuff.
