Personally i wouldnt recommend a mcp355 and a modified top is even worst, the failure rate is too high.

I went through 2 and i just gave up, first one happen after 2 weeks with a xspc top the pump would not start priming the water unless u give it a good shake and sometimes it will work, second one died in 24 hrs and its just dead.....

I ended up with ek4.0 and its been doing great, its cheap does a good job, does not run as hot as mcp355 as well. If u dont like ek then go for mcp655 that is a great pump i regret selling mine...

You sure you had everything hooked up correctly and nothing was impeding the flow?? There are MANY people on here running the MCP355 with aftermarket top without any problems. Honestly you are the first person I've seen with a complaint about it but I'm glad you like your new pump. I have the OCZ version of your pump (pretty much the same exact thing) and it works like a champ for me.

There are some older batches of DDC pumps that really didn't last long, he may have had tremendously bad luck.

Makes sense. I've only been around here for a few months biggrin.gif They've been pretty solid since I been here.

Why dont you just buy the 360 Rasa kit, the gpu block and the green tubing as save yourself some money. There can't be THAT much of a difference can there?

The difference between the Rasa and EK block is maybe 1C in favor of the EK block. It's up to the OP if he's willing to spend $40 for that much gain.

Not a bad idea but I'm not really sure about the pump in those kits. I'm not saying it's bad but I don't really know much about it. It is a solid set for $149.99.

I have not read all 4 pages of this thread, but one sure way to save money is not to get a motherboard block. Doesn't really serve any purpose unless you are driving some truly extreme volts.

Both the Rasa and EK blocks are better then the Heat Killer. The Heat Killer is still a great block but with the EK at the same price and performing better and the Rasa being much cheaper and also performing better it really doesn't get many recommendations :/ Still a great block though.
