I know its a dev build but, it would be awesome if someone can find a way to change the green background on the start screen. biggrin.gif

So far all is good. It takes time to get used to.

Look in the registry at the same location of windows 7. Maybe it is at the same place. Then see what's the file name. Replace it with the picture you want. If that don't want to work take a pic give it the same name and rename the old one.

Will try that later.

not a bad Idea just don't want to spend time personalising it as it will deactivate at some point in the future.

So far I like it start menu on right takes a bit to get used to.

They just decreased animation times to give it a faster feel.

Once you disable animations, it feels slower than windows 7.

Ram usage is lower if you dont have apps running.

1 way to find out, benchmark.

I got a program that lets you switch back to the old UI and keep the ribbon bar.

windows key + r for run
Windows key + e for my computer
windows key + q for search

If you want to speed it up a bit, use hirens boot cd 14.1 to get a full view on whats starting up with your system.

Alot of stuff hides from msconfig.exe

When it comes down to it, i dont like windows 8.

Too much network usage to Microsoft, and they want you to associate an email with the operating system.

Iam gonna do a bit of packet analysis and see what type of information is getting sent to Microsoft.

I can already see were this is going.

Probably asking a stupid question here... but will it have a standard interface then?
