I had vista seens the summer had no problem except playing games. I liked it. But when I upgrade to 64bit and added 2 gigs. I love it. Works quick now. Yes have to do some tweaking the same way I tweak xp to make it better.
Guess you can call me "Bi" seens I have both and use them.

Never tried by myself, but through other's computer, it seems to be very effective, I'd say.

The only thing I do not like is there's this thing that pops up and annoys the crap out of me, but I am aware that you can turn that function off.

I have re-installed it twice since December, but I actually do like it. I corrupted it once with too high an OC the first time so that shouldn't count. The second time was when I switched to put it on my Raptor. I won't say that it is better than XP, but once you find everything on it the OS does offer some nice features.

you shouldn't have to upgrade hardware that ran XP fine to get Vista to run ok, you can turn some things off, but M$ made an oops by making release cycles so long, everyone thinks there year 2k blazing fast computer is still up to the task

To me all these new features in vista aren't worth $100-200 more.
Thats my point exactly, why do I need it? I don't! I don't really have that big a problem with it but why do I need to upgrade? XP is fine and will be for years to come as 2000 was.
