What AV programs are you using? Norton and McAffee won't detect any virus made after the mid-90's.

Thats too funny

I hate both those programs due to resource hogs, but they are decent at detecting virusese

I used Panda and AdAware, since that's what they had. I'm probably going to install AVG and ClamWin, even if they think free programs are free for a reason (they're not). I already tried both SFC and repair install.

Don't bother with AVG, get NOD32. It has a free trial.

Anyway, even if you do manage to clean it, I would highly recommend just formatting the thing anyway. You have no idea if there is more trojans left undetected on the system afterwards or anything. Once a system has been this seriously compromised it is impossible to trust it again.

AVG is free. No trial, just completely free. Like most end users, they don't want to format because they keep their personal files, i.e. pictures, savegames, etc., all over their filesystem instead of a separate partition.

I'd say the minor inconvenience of backing up your files is far more worth it than having your passwords and other personal information stolen by some hidden trojan.
