You me and some other guys are wondering the exact same thing I think someone sent an email to thermalright asking that very question, we are still waiting on an answer..
Thermalright states that the Shaman is designed to fit reference boards including the GTX570. However, as the EVGA GTX570 HD is non reference, the chance of compatibility is not high. The main obstacle is that the GTX570 HD has a DVI output on the 2nd PCI slot (red circle in pic 1) which will come into physical conflict with the heatpipes of the Shaman, according to my estimate.
While waiting for an official reply from either EVGA or Thermalright, let me use scale drawings and dimensions taken their spec:- 1. Pic 1 shows the GTX570 HD
-Its length is 229mm which is shorter than the reference card's 267mm
-the distance between the left row of screw holes to the pci slot plate is 65mm
-the disance between the left row of screw holes to the edge of the DVI output is 43mm
2. Pic 2 shows the Shaman
-the distance between the left row of screw holes to the edge of the heatpipes is 61mm
As 61mm is > 43mm, the heatpipes will clash with the DVI output and will not fit in.
While there is always a chance that my calculation is off, better wait for an official reply. But just keep the expectation low in the meantime.
First, I just discover that I have made a mistake in my calculation above. I have mixed up the mounting holes of the graphics card with the four screws on base of Shaman. See pic 1 below.
What this means is: as the distance between the mounting holes and the screws of the Shaman base is about 15mm, the Shaman heatpipes extend about 61-15 = 46mm. But this is still longer than the clearance of 43mm available.
However, the difference is now only 3mm, which is potentially within the margin of error of my calculation. This is the best that I can do for you.
As you have already ordered, you just have to wait until they arrive and see if you can fit it in.
As to your 2nd question of mounting the Shaman 180 degrees around, I do not think this orientation will work as well. See pic 2 below. It shows the other end is even longer (72mm > 61mm).

I could mount it the other way and bend the pipes up to give some clearance from the DVI ports (being careful of course)
When mounting it the other way, the Shaman's depth of 140mm will now point toward the motherboard (vs pointing away from the mobo) and this will not work as this dimension is larger than the height of a graphics card.
@windfire
But you could remove the dvi casing?
Thus basically removing the problem?
afaik, inside of that casing is just a small dvi port, just wasted space inside there.
A different card here, but the dvi ports still are same on every card out there afaik
Which is why I returned my 570HD. I went a step down to a 560 TI, which has alot of different aftermarket cooling options. I'm waiting for artic cooling to release their twin turbo 2 at the end of this month, then I'll slap that onto my 560...
Also do you really need memory sinks on the memory now that memory runs so cool anyway? I know on some asus and xfx cards they do not put any memory sinks on theirs..

It's better to have them, especially something on the VRM's
It looks like their is like 1mm in between the dvi housing the that heat pipe. But that's all it takes Can you change the 120mm fan on the cooler? Use any one you want?

I'd rather take Accelero Extreme Plus. Twin Turbo is too weak IMO for GTX570.
