Some keyboards don't work well on USB 3.0 ports. Make sure your keyboard is plugged into one of the USB 2.0 ports.
There are also known problems with optical drives when connected to SATA 6Gb/s ports. Make sure yours is plugged into one of the 3Gb/s ports instead. If that doesn't fix it, check to see if there is a newer firmware for your drive.
Finally, what's with the thread title? Are you suspecting that your problems are due to a virus?
Privacy protection shouldn't affect boot or bios. Try a different port, our a ps/2 keyboard
