hi guys my logitech g35 broke so i need a new headset.

i was thinking of the http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-tiamat-71
with a sound card instead of my mobo sound.

my mobo is a asus sabertooth 990fx 2.0 if its good enough for that then it could save me a few bucks.

my budget is under $200 for the headset and $100 for a soundcard if needed.

i prefer the over the ears or "closed" off headsets cause they block noise quite nice. 7.1 surrond would be great and it does need a mic cause i game alot.

please and thank you

Just got Plyr 1. I still have my Astro A40, but am soooo tired of the wires either draping all over my keyboard or me rolling over them with my chair. They are $150 at Best Buy right now and I gotta say it's awesome. I kinda thought Skullcandy was gimmicky, but these are sweet. They were designed fully by Astro too, as Skullcandy just bought Astro Gaming.

Yea 7.1 is a gimmick. Lol. Sennheiser, Steelseries, Logitech, Psyko, Plantronics, Turtle Beach, Creative...all their 7.1 gaming headphones are gimmicky... sound advice

As other mentioned, you're better off with a good pair of headphones and a clip on mic if you are looking for sound quality.

I personally use a Siberia V2 that I got for 60$ for gaming and voice chat because I find them to be convenient (since it's USB, I just plug them in my front panel. It's also easy to carry around). I really recommend them if you are looking for a headset. Just dont buy any ''gaming'' audio product that is priced too high because there are much better alternatives out there, no matter the price point.

For gaming, you are looking for a large soundstage with a sound focused towards the mid range rather than the bass.

Then the siberia could be nice for you. Not to expensive and one of the better headsets. But really the optimum are headphones for 100-150 and a external microphone.
My old headset was a G35 and now its 770 dt pros and i wouldn't look back. But if you take a headset make sure its not a USB headset.
