Hey,
I may be setting up Eyefinity very soon, but 1 thing that is puzzleing me is the adapter for dp to hdmi.
I was going to use hdmi for 1 screen, DVI o HDMI to another and Dp to HDMI to the other, the other 2 screens can be sorted eaisily for me but I am wondering alla about the DP adapter.
1. Do i need a active or passive adapter?
2. does it matter if i use a active or passive adapter, will both work the same?
if i can think of anything els i would like to add i will put it into the thread
Hey, man...learn from my mistake...passive doesn't work. You need an active adapter...I know they aren't cheap but unfortunately that's how it works. MUST be an active adapter.
(If you have a sapphire card tho, they have proprietary active adapters that are WAY cheaper for only use with sapphire cards. if you don't have a sapphire card, don't even take this to heart)
Will these work ?

And what exactly is the difference between active and passive ???
Can any of you OCN people have a look at some of my other threads what i have asked about so i can learn more about eyefinity and peoples opinions and benchmarks

Those look like older models. I bought [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Accell-B087B-005B-DisplayPort-Single-Link-Certified/dp/B004071ZX0/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b"]this[/ame] one as soon as it came out and apparently is was the first sub $100 solution. I'd stick with the Accel adapters that look like what I posted instead, it's $30 and you KNOW they work.

and it has to be hdmi, well i prefear it to be coz would rather dp straigh to hdmi then dp > dvi > hdmi
That all depends on the card you get. My 5850's needed that one I linked to, but my 6970 needs the hdmi or mini-displayport. They make adapters for all of those setups, I was just linking to that one for reference. That one you keep linking to doesnt say that its active, so I wouldnt buy it. But you can try it if you want.
