I am having trouble with my newly built desktop giving me "Not Responding" messages and my screen turning an opaque, translucent white color as the system hangs. During the system hang I can move the mouse around and the mouse will turn into the blue loading circle. I can also click to Open the Start Menu and the pinned icons on my taskbar but nothing will happen until the "hang" is over. When the mouse is scrolled over the star menu and taskbar it will turn back to an arrow until I move it back up into the center of the screen where it will turn back into the "loading" blue circle. I have searched every inch of the internet for answers and have yet to come up with a solution to fix it. So I have turned to the overclock community to see if anyone has had the same problem or know of any solution for it.
The freezing "Not Responding" happens during any task that I am doing whether it be web browsing, opening folders, or simply playing a game. It tends to happen a lot after booting up my desktop for the day and persists for a good 10-15 min. with each "Not Responding" freeze taking about 10-20 seconds for the system to finally respond. After about an hour of use the problem minimizes but will happen I say about every 30-45 min. So I decided to troubleshoot the hardware. I did everything from re-seating my processor, removing each stick of ram and running them one at a time to completely tearing the whole thing down and and putting it back together. I also checked to see if it was my video card by unplugging the cord and plugging it into the mobo's integrated video card and still the same problem happens. I also ran ccleaner, windows repair, memtest, spybot, adaware, kaspersky, configured my bootup/startup to remove anything not needed that I can turn on manually later on and even have went so far as to doing a fresh install of my OS.
I invested too much money in this desktop for it to be hindered by "Not Responding" messages. So my question is does it have to do with my memory which is in my sig? I know for my mobo no Mushkins are listed as compatible memory but I know others who use the same if not other models of Mushkin ram on the same mobo. So please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
I Apologize for the wall of text just wanted to make sure I made sense and listed what I have done to try to solve my issue. I just don't want to have to spend the money on more memory if that is not the issue.
