They have their own markets. So I choose both. AMD for APUs and budget chips, Intel for high end desktop chips. But...if I absolutely had to choose, like in order to save a life or something, I might choose AMD. Just my bias.

I think AMD is doing a great job against Nvidia. But they really, really, really need some good high end CPUs to compete with Intel.

Didn't read through the thread cus I'm in school. But I have a feeling it's to do with a BIOS settings. Look for the AHCI/IDE SATA port settings in the BIOS. Switch it around and see if it works. If you have to switch to IDE for it...
