A certain batch of WD Blue (640GB and 1TB) were extremely failure prone. Guess you got one of the shot ones.

I'd think small and cheap is the way to go. There's no need for full-size ATX boards and midtowers.

- More reliable
- WAY better fan control
- Cheaper
- Overclocks well too (well, not as well as the Gene but most times its the chip that limits you)

They each have their own pros and cons.
