I know it sounds kinda odd... but have you attempted a reinstall of Windows 7? I know it really sounds weird... but it's saved me a LOT of trial and error issues that take WAAAY too long. >.>

Are you sure it's not the video card? The GTS 330M was never supported in the G60 series and that may very well be the issue... either that or age.

Hmm.... I'd have to go with around $550 and be done with it. That includes shipping by the way. You're not gonna get much more for it with the Clevo W110ER out there (Full on i7 quad + 650M).

I've never done more than nod and go "That looks about right..." when dealing with a typical refresh for the laptop lines... but WOW... my jaw dropped clean off and I was FLOORED by the performance that I witnessed...

The 780M is already just that much faster than the 680M and then some. The 8970 doesn't stand a chance.
