I tried it but... as you mentioned RDP can be a problem. I somehow got multiple users to work but then I seemed to mess stuff up if I RDP'd 2 or 3 at a time (forget it was open)
I bought that case around 2 years ago, PSU was loud. The cheapest i3 will work just great. I have a g620 in a htpc and the only thing it can't do (i think) is 3D.
