So many uninformed comments... More phases isn't necessarily better, but it isn't necessarily worse either. More phases allow you to use smaller inductors, and if the phase shedding is done properly, it can be even ever so slightly...

I don't see a problem with this. It's the same with PC games. If you can't afford a few $60 games, you're probably not a part of the market they're looking to corner.
