Probably... just wait for the actual thing though. FPS in Battlefield 3 is decent even with the graphics on ultra if you're using HD 6950.

I suggest you pin your programs to the Start Menu instead of to the Taskbar. Pinned browsers will have a little arrow next to them that will display the options that you mentioned, but in the Start Menu.

Keep the GTX 470 because the GeForce 700 series is coming out in just a couple of months.

Extra video memory probably doesn't matter unless you're doing multi-monitor. Windows Vista and Windows 7 will hog roughly half of your system RAM for shared video memory anyways.

HD 7950 would most definitely get bottlenecked by HD 7950.
