Reading the specs it seems as though the monitor itself requires a 12v input so im not sure if 5v will be enough Also that's too many amps for USB, you will prob end up blowing the IC Just buy the recommended 12v power supply...

Good questions Your best bet is to have a measure up and see how much space you have for the psu then work out from there which will be best for you, let us know how much free space you have and we may be able to help... I personally...

Nice Mod! So how exactly does this work out in the real world? Do you have to adjust the resistance depending on the load you place on the 12v line? If this is the case is there not an easier way to do this so its just 12v regardless?...
