I was taught that an id should be used only once & a class can be used multiple time, both can work multiple times but it's easier to update your html if you use that rule.

yes you can do rollovers with html5, you need to create a sprite page, http://wearekiss.com/spritepad that site makes it easy for anyone to make them.
