CUETools also will do that. If you use foobar2000, it'll convert from ALAC to FLAC.

Yes, you want ALAC, not AAC though they share the same MP4 container (.m4a extension).
Yeah, setting up two profiles for Firefox and Waterfox is pretty easy with less hassle.
Flash's installer installs both 32-bit and 64-bit Flash if running on a 64-bit machine.
Firefox has always had performance (lagging/freezing/etc.) issues either when opening multiple tabs or having multiple tabs open at the same time. Again, this is getting better over time thanks to Project Snappy.
Firefox (and thus Waterfox) has always been slower to load on a cold boot than Chrome/IE but it has gotten better over the last year or so thanks to Project Snappy. Firefox 19 does include several bug fixes which slightly helps startup...

SRWare Iron, Torch Browser, Coolnovo (formerly ChromePlus), Comodo Dragon, etc. Basically SRWare Iron is scam, Torch has modifications for torrents and multimedia, Comodo Dragon's focus is security and Coolnovo adds additional features....
Dropping XP support seems logical to me. People should at least be using Windows 7 aka the new Windows XP.
