I am skipping this generation of cards as well and waiting for next generation. The games I play still work on my GTX 280 even at 2560 x 1440p resolution so I am in no dire need to upgrade.

I want to see what AMD does once the 670 comes out. I would be shocked if they reduced the 7970 to $400 but I doubt that will happen. If things don't get any cheaper or nothing newer comes out by August I may upgrade but not sure.
