I would think mounting to the wall would be your best bet. i don't see how you would be able to add it on to the current mount or add another desk mount.
The only drives that failed me are hitachi and only one seagate drive. Glad seagate came out with a cheaper solution because im tired of paying $300 for a 4TB HGST drive.
