well, after the curing period for the Ceramique.. at idle Im sitting on 44*C.. and at 100% GPU load Im seeing nomore then 56-60*C. Altogether, a drop of ~35*-40*C, idle/load. Im satisfied.

vet here, Army 92-2000 (8 yr contract) I think what you are doing is fantastic.
you should be able to adjust your temp settings in your BIOS... they are probably set on "smart fan".. I would recommend changing them to "manual" 100%.

those temps are high for running stock timing. I would remove the heat sink, clean both the cpu and heat sink base with rubbing alcohol, and reapply a very thin layer of a GOOD thermal paste. hell, at 3.2ghz Im running idle 38-42c core...
as all the above posters have stated, yes.. 500w will run it just fine.
