If you want AHCI, just make sure your drive is set to it in the bios, and install as normal, format as needed.

I think its about average.. have you tried using OptiFine?

Try backing off on the OC. If you have to clear the cmos to start it, it sounds like youre pushing your chip too hard

You could always RMA it. Its technically a defect, I guess. I don't know how harmful coil whine is to your card, but if you can wait for a replacement, there's nothing wrong with RMA'ing it

does anyone know if the a board with the 970 chipset will need a bios update for one of these? I have an ASUS m5a97, and I haven't seen any updates pushed yet
