Just run the sleeving as far up as you can. You can't disassemble a D5 like a DDC.

This is a common problem with the M2. Generaly the issue is the PCB inside the kb. They used a bad component somwhere, there are repair guides if you are handy with a soldering iron.
Have you tried tilting the system from side to side? It sounds like your culprit is an air bubble. maybe stuck in the pump top?
Following up on what Hatfieco said - I use AS5 on all my thinkpads for the simple reason that it's that easy to work with. I occasionaly use another brand for desktops.
