the tech specs look good on the FX77, but I doubt the actual frequency response will be close to what it advertises, and the sensitivity rating is really low for IEMs, don't really know what's going on about that.

A budget will always help. And if you want to also listen to music with them, genre would also be helpful. In the $100 range the HD555 is often recommended, and in the $200 range the HD595 is a good step up.

Get the Aircushions (FX66) and do the FX66 Mod. Ultimate Ears recently came out with a new set of low end buds, but I'm not sure about how good it is.

T-amps are especially great for this purpose, especially considering the form factor.
