Those prices for those laptops are absolutely insane. If you don't need a Nvidia GPU for any specific program or playing games you should try finding laptops with no discrete GPU so they are cheaper.

This section was made for discussing Mobile devices. It's fine. Has your friend considered getting a normal sized notebook? It seems ultrabooks' processors may not handle his workload, especially with 30+ web browser tabs
