i wouldnt consider 5 hours of prime "very stable", alot of times it takes 8+ hours to show instability. your overclock was probably just not stable to begin with and is now showing its signs. try adding some voltage and see how it does
2 480s are still beast. the heat does suck but they wont run any hotter with a second one aside from the card with blocked air flow running maybe 1-3 degrees hotter. power consumption is pretty high but a 910w PSU will easily handle them.
