Don't use any dye. I know it looks cool, I always want the colour, but I'm sick of cleaning gunk out of my loop/blocks. Now I use distilled and a biocide, coloured tubing and LEDs to get the cool look.
A mid tower case can be challenging to get a good loop into. And your case would need some effort and modding to get a good , tidy effective loop set up. I agree that it looks better to keep it all inside if you can but with a mid tower...

I also think a D5 is an excellent pump, I have used a few, the oldest one I have is 6 years old and still running fine. Tubing, I recommend 3/8"ID 5/8"OD. Either Tygon 3603 or Primoflex Pro LRT. I have used both and they are are a good...
