Can get the same performance with sli 660tis for $250 less or much more performance with sli 670s for $30 less. My annoyance of their pushing a higher price paradigm overrides desire.

When I think of issues with AMD, FUD isn't one of them. They have a plethora of real problems, FUD isn't necessary.
It's debatable about the interface they used but it's a really short sighted business move on their part to not have the TV able to do 2160p@60Hz with two cables and upscale 2560x1440.
They don't match, again, rough, 8800gtx sli at bottom, but I am having a hard time trying to explain that one and didn't catalog my progression. One thing I did that compresses things is going by 2560x1600.
10-15% margin is what I go by roughly, and from what I've seen, not severely incorrect, and that's not to say the newer cards don't have a larger margin for some games.
I coincidentally have been dredging through reviews, these are roughly the same performance: 8800gtx sli 8800ultra sli 9800gx2 sli 9800gtx sli gtx280 sli 9800gtx+ sli gtx285 sli gtx295 gtx275...
On the same board I run my memory(4x8gb Redline Ridgeback 1866mhz 1.35v part#992073) at 2000@1.4v /w stock timings of 11-11-11-27-38. I haven't done much in the way of trying to get more out of them than try 2133@1.575v(wouldn't post.)
A port of a console game to PC is a console game on the PC, making a PC version of a console game that "isn't just a copy of the console version" involves un-dumbing/de-consolizing the game...
