The box came with no instructions and the only guide online shows putting the bolts through the back of the motherboard. Do I actually need to remove the backplate on the 2011 socket? All the websites and the box says that it is 2011...

^^^ Hasty? No it is not possible. The 6000 and 7000 series are completely different GPUs. The GTX 600 and 700 series can be put together with the right cards and some BIOS magic.
