I have diabled all that i can in BIOS and set to 'Fast Boot' too - but even still the boot time should be quicker than this? .
got back from work and checked and they are already connected to the correct slots as you mentioned

not sure what you mean tbh, I just plugged the sata cable into the red sata ports - the manual says these are 6gb/s connectors, so I presumed these are the correct/fastest ones available to me? They are fixed to the mobo and are not...
yer AHCI mode enabled in BIOS - haven't tried default settings (no OC) but can't see that affecting it? I dunno i'm confused lol I have the SSD plugged in to the red sata 6gb/s ports on the mobo too

yer that's where i'm stuck I already set it to Fast Start up in BIOS.. dunno what else to try - thanks anyway
to be honest I haven't got much in startup lol - I think maybe its Mobo related? these are the only things in there:
40 seconds from power on to desktop - I set it to auto login. the windows logo stays on screen for about 10 seconds also I have classic shell and skip metro suite on there too - maybe that's whats slowing it up?
