It would only make sense to purchase those if you're operating without a budget, if you have one or a few and you want to raid, you're in a corporate Datacenter situation, or if you found a really good deal.

Sounds like one of your devices, either the computer, or a switch/router you have in place only operates at Ethernet speeds. 100mbps Gig connectivity is fully supported under those lengths assuming you have good cable. check all links...
Negative, Sorry the Samsung 840 PRO is a great SSD, but i would not go as far to say it's the best SSD.
