You are good to go with the single cable with 2 connectors on it. And that OCZ 850w will be great, and it'll allow you to add another card down the road if you choose to do so.

2x 470s will be an upgrade from 2x 280s for sure. If you can get them cheap and sell your 280s it would probably be worth it IMO
