It's good news to me that they aren't at all impressive. I plan to build an all new rig soon. The prices will go down on the 3xxxK and I won't feel like my chip is severely outmatched by the newer tech.

You don't have to have DLC to mod Sims 3. There are numerous mod sites available. I used Sims 3 to make houses/castles for RPG maker, and I used AOE to make terrain. It was much much faster than the copy n paste method most people use....
