The side window fan could pose as a benefit if you turn it around to push cooler air into the case (assuming it's located somewhere towards the fan). Asides that, maybe a custom fan profile like Sethy suggested will help even more.
Easier to keep vibration and imbalance out of the rotation. As noted earlier, ducted fans can have problems with these. Same goes for radial engines on planes for instance, always an odd number of pistons around the crank.
