Yup, All firewalls are equal, its how you configure them that makes them secure or not. Some people donmt like the windows one as its not the easiest to use, but it does the job

INsalling linux ius way more than novice though, A live cd would be a better choice, just burn it and pop it in whenever you do banking / stuff you wanna keep non virused
