Ya, Mushkin usually doesn't make it onto any compatibility lists because they are a smaller company and don't often get many samples out to manufacturers I don't tihnk. No worries there, I just said it in case you've heard of others...
What Vtt and IMC voltages are you trying? I can run Mushkin 997000 kit, which is 1600Mhz kit, at 2333Mhz at stock voltages using 9-11-10-31 timings. So I doubt it's the memory itself, unless your kit is damaged, you probably just need...

Latest BIOS is fine, that was only a few isolated incidents and on older BIOSes. They may have even been set-up? You'll be fine, OC away, keep your VRM's cool though!
