Honestly, at that price point, you should just get a new pair of headphones that are more sensitive.
Only the S4/S2 combo are available but there might be one surprise item coming soon!
You'll need/want an extension cord that terminates in a 3.5 mm connector. The PRO550 out of the box comes with a long cable that terminates in a 6.3 mm. I do not recommend portable use due to the size of the headphone.
The D2X is not as versatile as the DX and actually isn't much of an improvement over the DX/D1. The PRO550 terminates in a 6.3 mm plug which would go best with the STX but the DX/D1 is honestly fine for the PRO550.
Says it's not available?

My collection will soon be.... Full-Size: Ultrasone PRO 550 (may be sold) Sennheiser HD600 Audio Technica AD700X (new as of last Friday) Audio Technica A900X (ordered tonight) In-Ear: Westone UM3X RC Sennheiser IE80
These are also on Amazon now for $169.99. I purchased a pair to complement my AD700X (my office headphones) that I got last week after I realized just how comfortable Audio Technicas are.

Or try the pillow fix. Toss the pair of headphones onto a soft pillow (key word being soft) a few times. See if rattle is still there.
