I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7 plus or whatever and it has an IR blaster. While it is cool and all, I find myself reaching for the remote 95% of the time. The only usefulness I find in the app that controls the IR blaster is the TV guide broken...

Guess i'm not buying Crysis 3 after all . Best part about this, I was never upset about this whole Sim City thing because the problems only affected me once for about 3 hours.

I'm positive that by the time 4k res tvs make their way into at least 25% of our homes (see: not $25000), there would be a feasible way to do this.
