You could buy a converter box since the cable conversion solutions are hit and miss. I used an old dvd player/recorder laying around. I use the ps2 composite cords to the dvd player and the dvd player hooks up to my monitor through hdmi.

In all honesty, the battle system in FFXIII/-2 sucks. It's dumbed down and almost button mashing. Go back to the old FFVII-FFX battle system and then we're talkin'.
